Repair / Replacement Notes

CD-ROM ejection failure / cracked gear

The Toshiba CD-ROM will eventually break a nylon gear in the ejection mechanism making the unit fail to eject/retract the tray.

The problem is a small nylon cog which cracks over time.

The replacement cog has the following dimensions:

• in “cog” speak - “0.4M 12 Teeth 2A”
• the brass replacements on ebay may need the hole bored out a litle bit to fit the motor shaft
• Total height (Teeth + shaft height): 5mm
• Teeth height: 3mm
• Shaft height: 2mm
• Teeth diameter: 5.4mm
• Shaft diameter: 3.6mm
